I really do feel honored to receive this award
from the Society of CameraOperators. I always thought that a
Mitchell was a spinning reel for fishing and Fisher made skis.
Images; that's your business, that's your profession.
And the images through the pioneering work that your industry
has done has enabled us in a rather crude way to convey a little
bit of what the space program is all about.
Let me tell you just a little about our program.
It was non-union and it was slightly more than a modest budget.
We pioneered some things; black and white video on a fixed tripod.
We were part of a one night stand with no reruns.
There are three things that I want you to remember
that were significant about our mission: Location, location,
location!
In closing I just want to thank you for recognizing,
on this the 25th anniversary of our first landing on the moon,
the achievements and a little bit of our hope for the future.
